ABOUT THE BAND

Trial Run is a band that was founded by Len Nason, who wanted to form a band for interest and fun, as kids were growing up, and to help charitable causes. He enlisted friend Ed Bauman, with whom he had played in a band in college almost 30 years before, Kris Krug, who had also played with them in college, and others he had known through friendships and through his law practice.

The band began with the name Senior Moments, then was called Fantasy for a brief time, before landing on the name Trial Run, to identify that the band began with a large number of lawyers and to signify our new venture.

Trial run has gone through a number of transformations with band members going and coming. Currently, the group consists of Len Nason, Ed Bauman, Craig LeClair, Jud Pierce, Shawna Johnston, Barbara “Ozzie” Pelsue, Ken Gordon, and Bob Sweeney.

The band began performing in 2007. Early performances occurred at Starbucks, a book signing at Barnes and Nobles, and at birthday, graduation, and block parties. Trial Run has performed at 2 annual benefit dances sponsored by the Lexington Global Warming Action Committee and the Massachusetts Climate Action Network, at Fenway Park for the American Bar Association’s TIPS(Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section) Event, for a benefit to help pay medical expenses for an individual, and the Lexington’s Hancock Church’s benefit for Sustainable Harvest International.

Trial Run’s music includes Rock and Roll, Motown, Blues, Jazz, Ballads, and has begun including original songs, in addition to covers of music created by others.
